When the crazy boys from 3OH!3, aka Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte were in New Zealand to support Basshunter last month, we caught up with them to talk Katy Perry, Twilight and music… And discovered that yes, they are as fun in real life as they look in their vids!
On their first trip to New Zealand…
Sean: I’ve always wanted to come to New Zealand, I’ve heard a lot of good things from friends.
Nathaniel: I want to get out and do some sight seeing.
S: I definitely want to do some partying. (Ed’s note: When I point out that it’s a Monday night - he laughed and replied…) People who party in the weekend are losers… (laughs)
What they were dying to do…
N: A helicopter tour around would be cool.
S: See the Lord of the Rings! I want to see the Shire!
Team Edward or Team Jacob?
S: Vamps are way better. They represent hidden passion.
On how 30H!3 formed…
N: It’s a boy meets boy story…
S: Well three years ‘before Twilight’ or B.T, which is how I measure it… Haha! We were at university I was studying physics.
N: I was doing english and pre-med.
S: We met in class and started making music together.
N: We did shows locally, went on the Vans Warped tour and have been doing shows ever since.
On being there for the historic ‘Kanye bashing Taylor Switf’ moment at the VMAs…
S: We don’t remember much!
N: I remember thinking it was a pretty bold move. Awakard, but kinda funny…
Celeb crushes…
N: I want to hook up with some celeb hotties. Who? Alexa Chung, Helen Mirren, Helen Hunt… Queen Latifah…
Their biggest achievement so far…
S: Making my first album ever. The most important thing is having a dream and seeing it to the end!

On working with Katy Perry for the new single ‘Starstrukk’…
N: Hot and sexy… There weren’t many clothes involved. Saliva.
Who they want to work with next…
N: Justin Timberlake would be rad.
S: We’ve worked with Kid Cudi before more would be cool. Lilly Allen.
Don’t ever ask them…
N: How tall are you?! And Where did you get name? (303 is the area code for Boulder, Colarado; their hometown).
On some people finding their lyrics offensive…
N: I think they’re totally right! We’re masogonistic pigs, kids shouldn’t listen to our music.
30H!3’s top five party songs…
‘Tik Tok’, Ke$ha
‘Now You’re Gone’, Basshunter
‘Ring of Fire’, Johnny Cash
‘Kiss From a Rose’, Seal
‘Remix to Ignition’, R.Kelly
Ramarea
